Carthago was founded by Phoenician colonists from Tyre in 814 BC. According to the legend, the queen Dido, sister of the king of Tyre, Pygmalion, who founded the city. She asked the sovereign Hiarbas, a Berber king, permission to establish a kingdom on its lands.He offered an area as big as a cow hide. The queen cut off a cowhide into very fine strips to define the perimeter of Carthago.
It's on this prestigious site that the first edition of Carthago Salsa Congress will be hosted, with an exceptional line-up which will have the opportunity to perform in one of the largest Roman amphitheater in the world!
