Hong Kong Salsa Festival – February 2 to 8,2009

Hello everybody,

I am so proud to be able to host Hong Kong Salsa Festival 2009 with support from many friends and salsa schools from ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

Returning to Hong Kong for the umpteenth times are some of my all time favourite giants in the salsa communities:- Nari Son, Gupson Pierre, Lourd Vijay, Richard and Sneha, Justin & Yanqing, Jaime and Liz, Laurent Hounsavi, Dr Salsa, Mika Takenaga's Studio-Casino School, DJ Rodrigo Nishi, Gavin & Sally, Knzo (salsa Lion of Africa), Pablo & Diana, Nalnari, Saint-Just & Patricia

There are some returing favourites such as Oliver & Luda, Tony Lara and Daniella, Bob & Shirley(bringing teams from Shanghai for the first time), Jean (DJ Mariachi) Kleinman, Helen Gramotnev & Sambaleeza, Mary-Grace & Neil (Reigning Asian Salsa Open Champions), Jason & Jerinne, Sol Hwang, Giancarla & Masha (representing New Zealand and winners of the first Asian Salsa Open Championships 3 years ago) and a host of other wonderful salsa celebrities and enthusiasts.

I'm very excited to introduce to Hong Kong Salsa Festival for the first time such talent as Adolfo Indacochea, Carla Voconi, Mike & Erell of U-Tribe, Carlos & Elli (watch out for their wild antics), Lesley and Violeta of Sakara Dance Company(really watch out for their wild antics) and one of my original salsa instructors, Irene Miguel from UK, bringing her Mambo & Salsa Lifestyle to Asia for the very first time.

There are significant sized salsa communities coming from Vietnam, Taiwan, Beijing, Shanghai, New Zealand, India and of course Australia. Over 20 countries, 30 cities will be represented at HKSF2009 that we know of so far. The list is set to grow.

Celebrating over 10 years of salsa schools are my company Quick Step Productions, Gupson Pierre's Salseros with Attitude Dance School, Lourd Vijay's Dance Company and our own local salsa guru and diva Frank & Chris Wong's Fun4U Productions.
