Get ready for a weekend of salsa you will love, includes 27 workshops plus two party nights with dance demos and DJs of the highest quality.
The new venue lends its self magnificently to the event, situated in Leeds city centre next to the Royal Armouries, the precinct boasts modern cafe's, restaurants cinamas, designer shops, large car park and of course the Royal Armouries itself where you can spend your spare time viewing the history of Britains military arms and conquests.
The Alea is a magnificent conference facility with modern deco, large dance floor private bar/ lounge and comfortable surroundings.
There will be a early bird booking price for the weekender so please book early to qualify. Cost:does not include hotel accommodation

Saturday Workshops begin at 9.45 untill 6pm 27 workshops to choose from throughout the day, each workshop will be 1 hour long. Workshops are followed y Salsa party 8pm till 3am inc demos.

Sunday : workshops 10am till 1pm. Depart 2pm

Hi,
My name is Chris Jackson and I currently work for unionlearn.
To celebrate this years’ Festival of Learning we are trying to organise a World Record for the number of people participating in a Salsa class. The current record is 7,774, we are trying to attempt 8,000 plus participants.
We will be working across the Yorkshire & the Humber regions to create interest to make this attempt a Guinness World Record.
We are still trying to finalise venues in Leeds, Sheffield, York and Hull, but I know how busy and tight schedules you may have.
We are hoping to involve as many dancing schools as possible from across the region and to involve television and local radio stations in a roadshow event.
The date of the record attempt is Saturday 31st October 2009. I would like to know if there is someone available on this day to lead the Salsa session, or to oversee the record attempt?
