Salsa Festival Slovenia – March 6 to 8, 2009 – Ljubljana, Slovenia

The first snow has fallen and our thoughts are drifting away back to the Salsa Congress a few years ago, when it was snowing on the last day of the event. The 10 hour long drive was quite a challenge for the participants who were arriving from the coastal area, since we all know that the drive is only 3 hours at the most in normal weather conditions. Now, that the first snow of the season has fallen, we feel it is the right moment to call your attention to the 4th Salsa Congress.

Reading about the financial crisis every day, you might think it would be better to forget about the fourth Congress in 2009 all together. But we are dancers and dancers are stubborn people. Only those of us, who went through difficult training sessions, know how much struggle and stubbornness are needed to reach the goal. And this – the stubbornness – is why we will be organising the Salsa Congress 2009 and once again we will do everything to make it an unforgettable event

In the last days of December 2008 my head is full of images and ideas for the 4^th Salsa Congress in the last winter days before the beginning of spring and what it SHOULD look like. Doing that, only the thoughts of a hot sauna and warm swimming pool at THERMANA and MEGA RUEDA DE CASINO, can keep me warm. We are currently busy negotiating with instructors and many of them already confirmed their participation. We will try to invite even more Slovenian instructors to take part. Nemanja Sonero as our Art Director took over part of the tasks, especially the negotiations with instructors from abroad. If we want to win over the best instructors we have to have the best people talk to them. Special compliments for us are the offers of over 50 instructors, who learned of our success in the past years. Some of  them would even like to participate free of charge, for the sheer joy of it, merely expecting their costs to be covered. They would love to be able to use the Salsa Congress as a reference in their vita and there is nothing more satisfying than to be considered a reference by anyone. In the picture gallery you can see for yourself what we did that made us a reference for others.

We would love to welcome you among the top salsa instructors and friends from all over the world to experience the great joy of an extravagant dance party.
